Product Description
Raw Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) isobtained by a cold press or solvent extraction from Cashew Nut shells. Itcontains approximately 70% of anacardic acid , 18% cardol, and 5% cardanol,with the remainder being made up of other phenols and less polar substances.
Technical Cashew Nut Shell Liquid(TCNSL) is obtained by further processing of the raw CNSL thru theheating process which leads to decarboxylation of the anacardic acid to formCardanol and the typical composition of technical CNSL is approximately 52% ofcardanol,10% cardol, 30% polymeric material, with the remainder being made upof other substances.
APPLICATION : Cashew Nut Shell Liquid has innumerable applications in polymer based industries such as friction linings, paints and varnishes, laminating resins, rubber compounding resins, cashew cements, polyurethane based polymers, surfactants, epoxy resins, foundry chemicals and intermediates for chemical industry.
